Again the last day of the year 31.12.2012 has appeared. I am
writing from Rue Prevost Martin, Geneva where I have lived for 3 years! By all means,
2012 can be regarded as a turn to a new era of life.
The year stared with a research visit to the United States in early January to Colorado State University. It was wonderful to visit the USA after a long wait for a visa. While returning back to Geneva I had a chance to visit New York. It was freezing cold during that time, especially when I went to the Empire State Building, I found the temperature to be about minus 6 degrees. I must say that now I want to visit the USA again and again, but at least once during the summertime.
Soon after returning back from the USA I made a trip to
Bangladesh to see the national book fare. It is always fascinating to think
about Dhaka but in reality it was bit different, it felt like a broken dream
with extreme traffic jams and people who have less respect for one another.
Anyway, the book fair chapter was amazing. It was the first time that one of
the publishers wanted to publish a part of my stories that I write in the blog. More over it was wonderful to see my friends and colleagues accepted my gifts from Bangladesh.
Coming back home I took a long rest, keeping myself only at
my office and home, and tried to concentrate on some research work. I submitted
one research paper in the journal of regional environmental change which is
under review and one of my papers has already been published in the Journal of
Water Resources Management. Here is the paper:
Not too much exciting stuff happened this year; I visited
several cities in Italy and in August I went to Paris, the most wonderful city
in my eyes. That’s all for this year and the very last days [December 28th]
I submitted another article to the Journal of Environmental Modeling and Software.
I am very much looking forward to the see the outcome of my
submitted papers which will be published in 2013 and also something very
special……………let’s see how it goes!
